description

Interactive Architecture Kit is a device I have designed and built during the FabAcademy2017 experience. It consists of an actuation system which can allow the movements of more elements using a parametrical pattern. It has been coupled with a sun shading system so that each shading element could rotate differently according to the sun position and the proximity of people. The study and the prototype are part of an analysis about the relationship between interaction and function. In addition, an efficient system has been studied to avoid the use of multiple actuators for each moving elements, in favour of a 2 stepper motors driven machine.

digital fabrication

The projects involves various techniques of fabrication such as 3d printing, mould and casting, laser cutting, PCB milling. All the steps are documented in my FabAcademy page here.
