guidelines
For the reasons above, the structure selected is very simple: a module of 12x12 meters, made by steel columns can provide maximum flexibility for future terminal expansions and device installations used to connects the aircraft to the terminal, such as fingers or bridges. The roof is covered by tensile material which allows the 10% of sunlight to light up the internal space, avoiding the use of artificial lights during day hours. The outcome is a light, clean, diffuse atmosphere which highlights one of the most important tradition of Amalfi’s coast: ceramic. Gio Ponti’s signature ceramic tiles are here introduces to give vibrance to the location and to evoke the local genius loci.
